“From Australian director Fred Schepisi, who last gave us The Eye of the Storm, the film is written by Gerald Di Pego (The Forgotten) and follows an art teacher (Binoche) who, upon starting work at a high school, gets into a competition with an English teacher (Owen) over the value of — you guessed it — words and pictures. We hope there is a bit more in store for that logline, but one can check out a comment from producer Curtis Burch below:
When I first read this uniquely romantic screenplay by Gerald DiPego, based on his original concept, I knew I had to acquire it as Latitude’s first project, as it is an enchanting love story colored with a sophisticated humor and would be ideal for Fred Schepisi to direct. It was with Fred’s commitment that we were able to attract Clive and Juliette, who are a perfect fit to create the chemistry between the two leads at the heart of the story. I am also very excited to be working alongside Lascaux Films to bring this movie to the screen.
Shooting kicks off in March for hopefully a late 2013 release.”
